Rosario Leotta was born in Catania, Italy, in 1982. He earned a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Catania in 2008 and in 2009 he moved to Naples to attend the Master in Photography at ILAS.
In 2011 he won the “Premio Arte” in Milan, which led to an exhibition of his works at the Permanente Museum. The following year, his photographs were showcased in Miami as one of the ten projects selected for the “The End” exhibition by the Celeste Prize.
From 2013 to 2020, Rosario participated in several exhibitions, including “Estate” at Lo Studio in Büdingen, Frankfurt, and the opening of the Plenum Gallery in Catania.
His artistic journey began around 2005, initially drawing inspiration from surrealism and the possibilities offered by photographic pictorialism. Over time, his work evolved into a form of “neo-neorealism,” where he predominantly explored black and white photography before transitioning to color in his most recent projects.
He currently lives and works in Giarre, Sicily, continuing to explore and redefine his artistic vision.

Nel 2009 si trasferisce a Napoli dove frequenta il Master in Fotografia dell’ILAS.
Nel 2011 si aggiudica l’edizione del “Premio Arte” per la fotografia a Milano, esponendo le sue opere al Museo della Permanente.
L’anno seguente le sue fotografie sono presenti a Miami, tra i dieci progetti selezionati dal “Celeste Prize” per la mostra “The End”.
Dal 2013 al 2020 partecipa a diverse mostre, tra cui “Estate” presso “Lo Studio” a Büdingen, Francoforte e all’apertura inaugurale della “Plenum Gallery” di Catania.
Ispirata in un primo momento dal surrealismo, la sua ricerca inizia intorno al 2005 e si concentra sulle possibilità offerte dal pittorialismo fotografico. Negli anni seguenti il ​​suo lavoro si evolve in un “neo-neorealismo” in cui l’uso della fotografia in bianco e nero è predominante, fino alle fotografie più recenti a colori.
Vive e lavora a Giarre, Sicilia, Italia.
